Marine Ball

Every year, the Marines host a Birthday Ball to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of the Marine Corps. Our Marine Ball was tonight. We got all dressed up and, after watching a small ceremony, ate a fancy dinner.

As an appetizer, we had Parmesan Cheese Crepes with Roman Broccoli Cream Puree. For dinner we had Breast of Guinea Fowl Stuffed with Swiss Chard Leaves, served with Grains of Pomegranate and Marjoram. On the side we had Duchess Potatoes with Spinach, Raisins and Pine Nuts & Artichoke Duxelle. I'm not really a "fancy food" kind of person, but it was OK. I think I prefer hamburgers to guinea fowl...but I guess its fun to do once a year. Now, its late and I'm going to bed!
